School Day

The following gives an idea of a typical day.  In a typical week, children are in school for 33.75 hours. 

07.30am

 

ESCape! breakfast club is available.  All children are welcome and booking is via Arbor.  Please see the ESCape! club page for more information.

08.15am

 

 

Gate opens.  The children are encouraged to greet the staff as they come into the playground.

 

08.30am

The school day starts with children coming into classrooms where teachers are waiting to welcome them and registration is done.

09.00am

 

 

Registration closes.  It is important that lessons are not disrupted by late arrivals as children who are late miss important introductions to lessons.  Pupils arriving after this time will be marked as late.

 

10.45-11.00am

 

Children have a 15 minute morning playtime.

 

12.00-12.45pm

 

 

 

Lunch is served.  All children benefit from a variety of dishes, freshly cooked on the premises, with a vegetarian/vegan option available at a cost of £2.30.  Children are welcome to bring a healthy packed lunch, and they can enjoy their meal in the dining room or outside.  The government Universal Infant Free School Meal scheme applies to Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 pupils.  We are a nut-free school, so please bear this in mind when providing a packed lunch for your child.

2.30-2.45pm

All of the children run the 'Golden Mile' around the school field.

3.15pm

 

The end of the compulsory school day. Parents collect their children from the playground.  The teacher will bring the children out to meet you.

3.15-4.15pm

 

Your child has the opportunity of joining a half-termly offer of a variety of enrichment activities. 

3.15-6.00pm
